The Nike Collaboration Is Special For The Runners By Highsnobiety

The marathon season is upon us, and one of the fastest races on the calendar takes place in Berlin. To commemorate the occasion, they've collaborated with Nike to create a limited-edition capsule collection honoring both the runners and the city.

The React Infinity Run FK 2 and the Air Zoom Pegasus 38 are two shoes in the line, along with a variety of gear such as tights, shorts, sweatshirts, and running tops. All of the items have a deep black foundation with neon-colored branding and designs.

The collection is based on the idea of travelling around a metropolis with no end point in mind, as inspired by the Situationist concept of a "Dérive." "In a dérive, one or more persons drop their relations, their work and leisure activities, and all their other usual motives for movement and action, and let themselves be drawn by the attractions of the terrain and the encounters they find there," as French philosopher Guy Debord put it when he first proposed the term.

The project includes graphics that depict Berlin monuments such as the Berlin Bear, Bauhaus-Archiv, and the Brandenburg Gate, as well as the coordinates for each site. In other places, we pursue our own dérive through the collection, discovering the city. The concluding "You Are Here" image is a homage to the significance of being "in the present" for marathon runners, as well as a reference to the frequent marker used on maps to identify one's position.

The entire collection drops exclusively at Highsnobiety Shop on September 23.
