Put The Monsters,Inc. Sneaker Back To Where It Began Or Help Me

adidas and Pixar have collaborated on a Monsters, Inc.-themed line, a testament to the cartoon film's enduring popularity – and how far away from God Disney grownups will wander.

adidas converts Pixar's most endearing monsters into... fluffy shoes to commemorate the animated film's 20th anniversary.

Mike Wazowski D.O.N. Issue #3 is available, and it's done in a pulsating lime green. On the tongue is a huge eyeball, an allusion to Wazowski's solitary eye. (If that's not enough, the words "YOU AND I ARE A TEAM" is written out over the shoe's vamp on elastic straps.)

The Dame 7 is also not spared. The shoe is redesigned with an electric blue and purple upper that blends mesh paneling with fake fur touches at the tongue and heel as a tribute to Mike's best buddy, Sully.

The Forum Low is perhaps the most appealing sneaker from the partnership, with a safety orange colorway — a nod to George Sanderson — and a fuzzy version of adidas' Three Stripes on the lateral.

As wonderful as Monsters, Inc. is, I'm not sure who will be buying this collaboration when it drops on adidas' website on September 25 and October 7. Adults from Disney, obviously, but who else?

The clothing is understandable. A Sully-colored sweatshirt and a Mike Wazowski tee — which reads, "It's laughter we're seeking!" — are objectively humorous, as bright as they are. Even the bright green Mike Wazowski basketball (which resembles the character's severed head way too closely) is a reasonable offering in this difficult and uncertain time.
