Patrick Mahomes' Adidas Sneaker Series Grows With The Release Of The ZX 2K Boost 2.0

Patrick Mahomes recently received his first signature sneaker from Adidas, and the electric Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is on his way to receiving even more.

To mirror Mahomes' style of play, Adidas has outfitted the ZX 2K Boost 2.0 with an eye-catching color palette. A hypnotic spiral print envelops the midsole and goes up the heel, while a holographic rainbow on the top paneling adds a splash of color to the otherwise monochrome sneaker. Adidas' three stripes, which are presented in a black-to-white gradation for added flair, are tucked between the dynamic prism.

Pro footballers, unlike basketball players, rarely venture into the domain of footwear. Only the most daring athletes are given their own signature shoes, let alone limited-edition versions of existing footwear. Mahomes is being positioned by Adidas as the best face of footwear in the league since Bo Jackson, after three seasons of brilliant play and two Super Bowl appearances.

Mahomes may well be the most sure-fire bet ever as a sneaker endorser, having already been tagged as a potential GOAT candidate by the time he retires and having established himself by his unusually flamboyant game.

Even Michael Jackson and Deion Sanders, whose sneakers are often regarded as the best in the world, have comparatively few kicks to their names. Because of Michael Vick's dogfighting conviction, his time at Nike was cut short, and no player's sneaker has really taken off in the years since. In the last decade, Robert Griffen III, Cam Newton, and Victor Cruz have all earned trademark footwear, only to have their careers swiftly fall apart.

This outrageous ZX 2K Boost 2.0 is already the most memorable of Mahomes' kicks, as it quickly eclipses his own Mahomes 1.0 FLX cross-trainer. It will be available for $160 on Friday, October 1 at 10 a.m. ET through Footlocker. And by the time Mahomes retires, it might very well be one of his career's wearing highlights.

Review: Nike Air Max 90 Hot Coral

Features These arrive in a slender red and grey Nike box, same like the other AMIII colorways. On one side of the box is a flashback boxtag, and on the other is the current tag. An orange rubbery plastic hangtag, magenta anatomical arch supports, and basic flat white laces are included. The inside of the tongue has a retro size tag, and the size is stated inside the ankle. Materials There's nothing out of the ordinary here; the recraft quality is on par with the other AM3 retros. With the felt swoosh, the upper is primarily smooth leather and mesh. The materials are softer and more durable than non-recraft AM90s, but the shoe isn't quite a "materials" sneaker. The sole purpose of this shoe is to elicit that old 1990 vibe, and the materials are acceptable for that purpose. With This Spooky Superstar, adidas Gets Into The Halloween Spirit

adidas isn't usually one to get into the Halloween mood, but this year is different. The company has been teasing what's in store for the night since July, with delights like applique-adorned ZX 8000s and a Jack-O-Lantern embellished Superstar, as seen above.  The shell toe, unlike the ZX runner, is considerably more restrained, opting for a basic get-up. The side is made up of black corduroy and tumbled leather stripes, with a shadow plaid eye stay in the middle. The carved spider web design on the tongue, despite being blackened out, adds intrigue. Orange logos and pumpkin dubraes appear everywhere, while the lining stands out with its fuzzy green material.
