Get Ready, Another Jjjjound X New Balance Is On The Way
It's too early to say, but you might argue that New Balance has had the best release schedule of the year so far. The "golden child" 990-series has been at the heart of NB's collaboration efforts this year, despite a clear concentration on the 550.
With the famous line's 40th anniversary scheduled for 2022, the regularity of partnerships that keep the series alive as a foundation is unsurprising. Fans of the 990 models have had a plethora of options, ranging from The Basement to WTAPS, Levi's, and Joe Freshgoods.
Those who prefer to keep up with the New Balance collaboration lineup will have a good idea of what the resale market looks like. These drops are in high demand and resale quickly. A simple search of the StockX database reveals that this is especially true for one name: JJJJound.
The Montreal-based designer is a regular at NB, with tonal reimaginings of the Porsche 992 and 990v3 fetching upwards of $2,500 on the secondary market. Each imprint implementation has been basic, maximizing the efficacy of easy-to-wear hues and the ageless nature of the shapes.
The motto for the duo's forthcoming 990v4 is "If it ain't broke, don't repair it." With subtly contrasting bits of navy suede and mesh, the shoe is nearly a perfect inversion of the silhouette's original grey colour.
The JJJJound x New Balance 990v4 is expected to sell out very immediately, much like the previous 990s.
How about a JJJJound bike while you wait for your opportunity to get your hands on a pair?
