Wtaps' New Balance M990V2 Comes In 50 Colors

Will New Balance's hot streak of collaboration ever come to an end? It appears implausible based on releases like the Casablanca XC-72, Joe Freshgoods' 990v3, and Extra Butter's 2002R. Tetsu Nishiyama's WTAPS is up next, bringing his militaristic aesthetic to NB for the second time.

Following a successful collaboration on the 992 that resulted in the 992WT, WTAPS and New Balance are trying to strike gold once more, this time with the 990v2.

The 990v2 will be available in a color palette inspired by Nishiyama's military interests, similar to the 992WT. Take two is a reimagining of NB's characteristic grey tones, whereas the first collaboration was an investigation of WTAPS' signature olive drab featured throughout their garment ranges.

The classic greyscale renditions of the 99x series feature suede and mesh in two contrasting colors, with a white midsole and laces to complete the look. WTAPS extends the boundaries of this conventional style by using four Pantone greys to color distinct cloth textures.

The toe and heel have soft grey suede overlays, which give the heavier grey mesh of the toebox an aged steel look. The dark textured leather on the tongue and heel provide a warm contrast to the lighter tones below, while the metallic silver logo and laces provide a warm contrast to the lighter tones below. Teal WTAPS branding rests at the heel with matching accents, ensuring its presence is unmistakable.

The WTAPS x New Balance M990V2 is a tribute to Tetsu Nishiyama's intrinsic ability to improve classic designs through modest color and fabrication adjustments, despite the muted palette. An fashion capsule of long and short sleeve t-shirts in navy and — you got it — grey will be released alongside the greyscale sneakers.

The Nike Pegasus Trail 3 GORE-TEX brings the Nike Pegasus line's dependability to less-than-ideal terrain. Review: Nike Air Max 90 Hot Coral

Features These arrive in a slender red and grey Nike box, same like the other AMIII colorways. On one side of the box is a flashback boxtag, and on the other is the current tag. An orange rubbery plastic hangtag, magenta anatomical arch supports, and basic flat white laces are included. The inside of the tongue has a retro size tag, and the size is stated inside the ankle. Materials There's nothing out of the ordinary here; the recraft quality is on par with the other AM3 retros. With the felt swoosh, the upper is primarily smooth leather and mesh. The materials are softer and more durable than non-recraft AM90s, but the shoe isn't quite a "materials" sneaker. The sole purpose of this shoe is to elicit that old 1990 vibe, and the materials are acceptable for that purpose. With This Spooky Superstar, adidas Gets Into The Halloween Spirit

adidas isn't usually one to get into the Halloween mood, but this year is different. The company has been teasing what's in store for the night since July, with delights like applique-adorned ZX 8000s and a Jack-O-Lantern embellished Superstar, as seen above.  The shell toe, unlike the ZX runner, is considerably more restrained, opting for a basic get-up. The side is made up of black corduroy and tumbled leather stripes, with a shadow plaid eye stay in the middle. The carved spider web design on the tongue, despite being blackened out, adds intrigue. Orange logos and pumpkin dubraes appear everywhere, while the lining stands out with its fuzzy green material.
