Nike Air Max 90 Bacon

Looks: 

The inspiration can be seen all over the top of the Air Max 90 bacon. The midfoot, toe box, and bottom of the tongue are mostly covered with red nubuck, which looks like raw bacon. Suede mudguards in a bone hue go down the shoe's edge. The lace eyelets, air max logo, and rear panel are held together by brown plastic panels that resemble cooked bacon. The bright pink tongue and Nike swoosh finish things off.

The liner is a tan/khaki hue with a crimson insole on the inside.

While it appears to be a lot when written down, it looks fantastic in person. It's nice to see a shoe in more neutral tones after seeing it in vibrant red, green, purple, or blue.

The leather panel on the toe and around the ankle is an unusual color option. This was a tan color in the original 2004 model, matching the inside lining.

The midsole and outsole are significantly plainer than the top. Off-white foam makes up the midsole, with brown paint surrounding the air bubble. The outsole is totally brown below, a departure from the traditional multi-colored Air Max 90 outsole. There are a few specks in the rubber if you look closely. The pink supports in the air bubble are the only thing that stands out.

There are brown, red, and pink laces available as accessories. You also receive the original arch support pads from the 1990s, which have been color-matched to pink.

Fit & Comfort: 

The Air Max 90 bacon is as comfortable as any other Air Max 90. They are, in other words, slightly long and thin. While you won't be able to try on this specific pair, locating an Air Max 90 to try on shouldn't be too tough. Dicks, Nordstrom, Champs, and other stores should all have a pair available for you to try on.

These are actually rather comfortable, especially considering they were released more than 30 years ago. These are intended to have an air bag in both the forefoot and the heel as part of the newly remastered series. There's some debate over whether Nike is doing this on all of the pairs, but they are clearly comfy.

The fact that they chose a faux-leather lining instead of the usual mesh is a double-edged sword. I actually like this with thick socks. However, if you intend on jogging in them for whatever reason, or if you plan on wearing low or no socks, your feet will be irritated.

Materials: 

For a sneaker named after bacon, the Air Max 90 bacon has a lot of synthetic components. The side suede panel, the pink swoosh, and the inside lining are all made of synthetic materials. The red nubuck appears to be genuine, but it's of low quality, even by Nike's standards. The verdict is still out on the white leather panels, although they are either synthetic or highly plastic-coated.

The midsole is made of EVA foam and has air units for further cushioning. The insole is a basic open-celled foam that sits between the midsole and your foot.

The rubber on the bottom of the shoe is a softer compound, which completes the look. This will most certainly improve comfort and is faithful to the original Air Max 90; nevertheless, don't anticipate Jordan 1 rubber wear.

Ease of Care: 

This shoe is pretty much the worst of both worlds when it comes to ease of upkeep. Heavily coated leather, such as that seen on Jordan 1s and Dunks, may appear cheap at first glance, but it is incredibly easy to clean. In fact, using only water, we were able to restore a mud-caked pair to near-new condition. Real leathers and suedes, on the other hand, require more effort to clean, but with appropriate care, they may endure for decades.

Unfortunately, this shoe not only employs low-cost faux-leather and suede, but it also lacks a protective layer of plastic. It's possible that if these shoes get soiled, you'll just have to accept it. If you're going to beat up on them, it's a good idea to spray them with suede protectant. This creates a barrier between the suede and the dirt, though the color may be slightly altered.
