Nike Adapt BB 2.0

Materials:

When it comes to judging the quality of used materials, the exorbitant price tag does not help the judge. The main body structure, like its predecessor, is that "secret" double-layered mesh & knit combination. The only noticeable upgrade/difference is that the new generation's external layer feels a little more plasticky, similar to the Kobe 11 Elite. But there's no need to worry because it just adds up to stronger support while leaving the comfort element to that inside layer. And it performs its job admirably: it's soft, simple to break in, and very form-fitting thanks to the FitAdapt technology.

Again, you won't get great quality from them, but they do tick all of the boxes in terms of performance. You can't truly knock them out only for that reason.

By the way, it's safe to assume Nike didn't improve the quality on these.

Cushion:

Nike made a huge mistake by not including Zoom Air technology into the original Adapt BB. A performance model for $350 without their finest cushion system? That's a prank. Without that, a $400 performer would have been an even greater farce. Fortunately, this will not occur since the Nike Adapt BB 2.0 incorporates the forefoot Zoom Air Turbo unit while retaining the amazing Cushlon that runs across the remainder of the midsole.

This is a dead ringer, play-alike duplicate of what you'll find on the Kyrie 6. So, if you've read my performance assessment on the Kyrie 6, you'll know that this is by far the most cushioned model in the Kyrie series. The Adapt BB 2.0, on the other hand, was the same.

The forefoot blends a low-to-the-ground design with the greatest responsiveness in the game from the Zoom Air turbo for a fast first step blow. While the heel section of the shoe is made of Cushlon, it provides enough impact protection.

Traction:

I feel quite thrilled whenever I see a herringbone pattern. However, not every herringbone, even if it is one, plays like one in real life.

The circular traction pattern was the second best after herringbone on the original Adapt BB. However, it was still too "soft." The same thing happened this year.

You should not have any grip difficulties on well-maintained courts. However, once dust is present, all of the flaws become apparent. The combination of a poor rubber composition and a closely spaced pattern results in extremely sensitive traction. As a result, you'll need to clean as regularly as possible to maintain your good performance. If you don't, those minor yet vexing blunders will ruin your game.

Fit:

Nothing has changed when it comes to size. Going true to size should be the best option for everyone, or at the very least for the vast majority of you. The remainder will be handled by the Adapt system.

Concerning the lacing system, I'm not sure if they upgraded one or both aspects of the system, or if it's just due to the altered body form, which improves how they hug my feet compared to the previous pair.

However, the major issue with the Adapt system that I previously mentioned has not been resolved. And it's due to a lack of adaptability. It's something you can absolutely get used to. However, for people with unusually shaped feet, where a shoe has to be tighter or looser in specific areas, the Adapt BB 2.0 may be more of a pain than a delight.

Support:

While the Adapt system has certain faults in terms of FIT, it becomes a completely other beast when it comes to locking down your foot. It is the main point of the entire support package, which is relatively typical without the self-lacing mechanism.

With the push of a button, you may get strong heel lock-down, reliable lateral coverage, and excellent footbed stability. Obviously, with the assistance of traditional support elements such as a huge external heel counter, a lateral plate, and, last but not least, a relatively wide base supported by an outrigger.
